Vacation! Norris Lake fun!

The last week of June was great.  The Chapel runs a wonderful VBS for older elementary aged kids called "Camp Alpha".  Josh & Cate attended this year so they were busy each day learning Godly principles and having fun.  So I don't have many pictures of that week since I didn't attend Camp Alpha. We did celebrate my birthday with a fun dinner at Ziano's and I got some fun gifts plus "Chocolate!"  Josh & Cate know chocolate is always an acceptable gift to give Mommy.

With the kids at Day Camp Alpha all week it allowed me time to prepare for our vacation.  We had a great time at Norris Lake with our older sons and their families.  This means that Luke & Susi, Nick & Autumn plus Sweet Nolan (age 9 mo) was with us.  What a great week of family time.  We sure missed Courtney and Zach.  Hopefully they can join us on the next family vacation.

We arrived at our destination, LaFollette, TN, after a 9 hour car trip.  It really is only a 7 1/2 hr trip but we got into some construction 10 mi before our turn off that added an additional 1 1/2 hr to our car trip.  We have never been here before and the house was great but it did have a few million steps everywhere we wanted to go.  It was a work out getting from the car to the house and then the house to the lake not to mention the 3 stories inside the house.  We are thankful for strong legs to help us out!

We had a ton of fun.  You can look at these pictures to tell that.  The weather was steaming hot so the only place to be was in the water.  We spent most of each day in the boat or in the water.  We all took turns doing water sports and when it got to hot to watch someone we just called for a "float break" and we all jumped in with our life jackets on.  The water was super deep so life jackets were a must!

We had a great dock area and swam there anytime we weren't boating.  I mean once you were down at the lake you didn't want to climb those stairs back up to the house until the end of the day!

They had a big bridge in the area that people parked at and then jumped off.  Luke, Susi, and Josh decided to check it out.  Nick and Autumn were not with us on this outing or we know they would have been up there too.  Cate decided to use her right to choose and chose "not" to jump.  Good choice Cate!

Climbing up to make the jump.

Walking the long walk to the middle.

Susi goes first and let out quite the scream!  Nice form Ate Susi!

Josh goes next.  Kuya Luke watches to be sure Josh makes it or is Luke checking out the long drop?

Luke waits alone to take his turn.  Is he thinking about walking back down or just trying to decide to jump or dive?
He goes for the dive.  Crazy Boy!

We also had lots of fun in the Lake House!

And we had a huge amount of daily Sweet Nolan time!  We loved seeing Nolan each day.  So much fun for this grandma!

Nolan was nicknamed "Gilligan".  He was definitely a great first mate!

Nothing more precious than to have a sleeping grandchild in your arms!

The family photos from the week!

We had a wonderful week of family fun.  Thanks for reading the blog and always continue

Choosing joy,
Chris & crew
