Thanksgiving 2011 week

Wow, this has been a crazy past week. The kids only had 2 days of school so we had 5 days at home figuring out things to keep us busy.  We met up on Wednesday with Moses and Sandria.  They used to live in the Philippines at King's Garden with Josh & Cate.  Theyare adopted by a family close to Fort Wayne so we were able to reunite the kids for some bowling & pizza.

On Thanksgiving morning we had signed up to run in the Galloping Gobbler (some call it the Turkey Trot) 4 mile run.  We met up with our friends, Mike & Erin Doughtery and son Joseph there.  Everyone did a great job in the run and we really enjoyed being with the Doughtery family.

After the race we had hamburgers and FF.  The kids requested this traditional American meal that they love for their Thanksgiving Day meal.  Our family was coming in on Saturday for the holiday dinner.  We had 17 people and 2 turkeys plus lots of stuffing, dressing, gravy, corn casserole, green bean casserole, mashed potatoes, deviled eggs and plenty of pies.  It was a good family dinner.  Some of our family were unable to make it and we missed them but still ended up with a lot of family faces around the table.

We had a lot of fun on our Thanksgiving family get together. Luke & Susi roasted a turkey and the kids were very interested in that. They had to be right there where the action was happening. They also got some football throwing in while the turkey was frying. The football did take a swim and that was another big adventure to fish it out. It was great to have both great grandmas here to have time with Nolan. We sure enjoy him! His parents are very good at letting us all get our hands on him. We love our Sweet Nolan time. Happy First Thanksgiving Nolan Clark! (2-1/2 months old). All of the excitement was fun. We sure wished Courtney and Zach could of joined us. We missed them.

We also found a few minutes for Daddy Jeffrey to try out his new birthday bike.  The kids were very excited to get Jeff a new bike for his birthday.  They have been anxiously awaiting the first bike ride with him and the new bike.

At the end of the day you can see we were worn out and enjoyed our snuggle/book reading time together. We are now on countdown to Christmas and a winter storm watch is predicted for later today. Josh & Cate are going to love that!

Thinking over this Thanksgiving season we are truly thankful for Jesus and all the blessings he has brought to this household in 2011.  Thank you for Josh & Cate.  As they say each night in their prayers...."Thank you for family!"
