Fun day around the house

Today was another good day. Ramon and Ramona slept until about 9:30am which was really good for Daddy Jeffrey and Mommy Christine. Jeff was able to run to the store for groceries and I did laundry and straightened up. Just everyday things that you forget about when having so much fun. We decided it was time to introduce them to McDonald's.

We found out cheeseburgers and fries were an international food. Plus "COKE" was fun too. After that we played in the sprinkler at home. It was sort of fun but we needed something bigger so we headed to Buckner Park where there is a splash pad.

That was very neat indeed. Our bedtime snack was a klondike bar!

We are having a great week.

Day at the Lake

Today we took Ramon and Ramona to Lake James. What a great day. They were a little timid at first. They didn't know that life jackets would keep them up and were pretty concerned with not knowing how deep the water was.

Even when they could stand up, they seemed a little scared. By the end of the day though, they were like fish. We had a great time and the should sleep GREAT tonight with all of the swimming they did.

Day #1 ends.

We ended our day with Pizza Hut and playing at the YMCA park.

The kids loved both. Then we stopped by The Chapel to show them off to the praise and worship team that was practicing. We are so amazed by how much these kids love Christian music and are just thrilled with their knowledge of Jesus and his church. It really is a blessing to us to know that they know Jesus. That's exciting. We were driving in the car and they both just started singing "Jesus Loves Me" while following along with a tape plus they know all the hand motions to "Father Abraham has Many Sons". They are really good at their bible school type songs. After baths they fell asleep while we read Dr. Seuss "Green Eggs and Ham". They seem to be just a couple of normal kids that God has dropped in our lap. Today was a fun day for Jeff and I. Yay! The kids are here! I gotta get to bed. Talk to you later.

Day #1 in the Clark household

The kids arrived last night about 9:40pm and it was chaos for a few minutes. Parents running to greet their children and the children looking very confused at times. Our children sort of hung back and looked very sleepy. Ramon let Jeff pick him up right away and he just layed his head on his shoulder.

24 hours of travel was too much. They were shy at first but warmed right up to us. We picked up their luggage and headed out after saying goodbyes.

We stopped at the IHOP for some food in case airplane/airport food wasn't their thing. They ate great. Pancakes and scrambled eggs were snarfed down but the big excitement was the ice cream sundae with the cherry on top. I guess ice cream is an international food.

They weren't too sleepy and very excited when we got to the house. They played with some of their new toys and checked out their rooms. After an hour or so we put on the video Cars and tryed to get them to sleep. We were very tired. They didn't seem so tired at the moment. We got to bed about 2am and they slept until about 6am. Pretty good for newborns I'd say. Today we hope to head to the store for tennis shoes and swimming suits and maybe a few other items. They are dressed and ready to go. Have a good day.

The kids are coming! The kids are coming!

Jeff and I just checked the itinerary for the kids flights and they left Manila about an hour ago. They are in the air and have started their more than 24 hours of travel. We don't know what to do with ourselves. I couldn't sleep last night and I don't think that I'll be sleeping tonight. Just too much excitement for this old body. We keep asking ourselves "Are we ready for this?" and the answer is clearly ...we don't have a clue what we're getting into but "Yes, we are so ready!" God started us on this path and he will continue to lead us and we are counting on Him. So here they come, ready or not.

Getting Started

Welcome to our blog. Chris and I have decided to create a blog to capture our adventure with Ramon and Ramona. We are so excited. We ask that you keep us in your prayers.

They will be arriving on Tuesday night, July 2oth.

Today we got toys out for the kids - trucks and baby dolls; decided on gifts to give them at the airport when they arrive; and made posters to welcome them. The big excitement was buying a handful of clothing items!
